Synopsis: Josyane receives as a lucky gift a dog trained to infiltrate luxury cars. The dog clipper who gave it to her assures her that, through this process, she should meet wealthy men. Against all expectations, the dog brings back a penniless young man, with whom the beauty falls in love immediately. An idyll begins, but the Don Juan ends up understanding what means Josyane used to achieve her ends.
UN CHIEN QUI RAPPORTE (1932) shows the Countess of Noyant (Laure Diana) returning Josyane Plaisir's (Arletty) dog, in a more than ambiguous outfit.... The character of the Countess is a coded lesbian, she appears in a masculine costume with a cane, a hat and a Monocle. She is a free woman, who smokes and drives (as is implied). We can see that the Countess is a lesbian through a slight sentence at the end. Josyane asks her if she has a boyfriend and our tomboy answers "Mademoiselle!" Then the shot suddenly cuts away....
